Workshop 1
- Use this link to download QGIS.
- NYC Open Data is a platform for accessing free public data published by New York City agencies and other partners. We will use this to download Land Use Data.
- You can refer to this document for standard colors used to represent Land Use.
- Access HOLC Shapefiles on the Mapping Inequality Project website.
- For Satellite imagery, we will use XYZ Tiles. The XYZ Tile option allows us to add common base maps by pulling directly from tile layers. You must enter a name for your layer and URL to connect in order to connect to the web map. Below are just a few maps that can be linked.

Workshop 2
- We will download raster data from SEDAC - Hosted by CIESIN at Columbia.
- Use the NYC Open Data platform again to download 311 data.
- Access Social Explorer through CLIO to download census data.
- Download shapefile of census tracts from the ERC Dropbox.
