Celebrate GIS Day with the Empirical Reasoning Center! GIS Day is an annual event celebrating the technology of geographic information systems that was initiated by Esri, an international supplier of geographic information system software.
We will screen-print map designs onto tote bags and create maps with wood in collaboration with the Design Center. There will also be a scavenger hunt with prizes (including a map print of your chosen city!) and a presentation from guest speaker Mishka Vance from the New York Public Library.
From 4 to 4:30PM the Design Center will hold a mandatory safety training for attendees who have never previously attended a Design Center safety training. From 4:30 to 6PM will be the wood mapmaking and tote screen-printing activity. From 6 to 7:30PM will be the guest speaker presentation and scavenger hunt.
